Last night we took the opportunity to get on our glad rags and hit the town for an awards ceremony celebrating Scottish digital innovation.
We were there as nominees in the Best Mobile App category for our work on the Rubadub App.
The event took place in the plush Radisson Blu Hotel where we were greeted with champagne on arrival. In between awards we enjoyed a talk from Michael Docherty of Skyscanner who provided interesting insights into their humans-over-technology culture, how they “fail forward”, and how voice is now being used as an input to book flights.
We found ourselves up against CU Soar: a mobile app for credit unions; Find a Player, aimed at taking the pain out of organising sport events; and Screenmedia’s app for power generation specialists, Aggreko.
We didn’t manage to win this time but we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, and there’s always next year. We’d like to congratulate all of our fellow nominees, especially Screenmedia who took the gong – well done and good luck for continued success.
Thanks to The Herald for an enjoyable event and also to Rubadub for their continued support.
