Now in its tenth year, the prestigious Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards recognise the success of businesses in Scotland in embracing the opportunities offered by digital technology and the internet.
The work we did with Rubadub in the last year has culminated in the release of an app which is a genuine innovation in record-buying.
The app allows music lovers to listen to previews of the latest releases carefully selected by Rubadub, bookmark them if they like them, and buy them to be shipped anywhere in the world. Sounds simple, but we couldn’t find anyone else who was doing it!
In partnership with Rubadub, Greenhill recreated the in-store experience of a great, specialist record shop with friendly staff who feed you tailored recommendations but throw in the occasional curveball to make things interesting.
Greenhill found a way that the app could sit alongside the existing website, payment and warehousing infrastructure to reduce overheads and make it a viable business in itself.
Already there are thousands of users who have checked out tens of thousands of records and orders are racking up.
